Decorating for fall this year was so much fun. I went a tad bit pumpkin crazy! I moved these little pumpkins all over my house all season long. I never keep anything in one place for very long, as you will see, and it used to drive my hubby crazy. However, he’s recently accepted the fact that when he leaves for work in the morning, he will most likely come back to the house completely redecorated from the time he left.
Before real pumpkins were available to buy in stores, I hit up one of my go to craft stores, Michaels, to buy an assortment of white and blue pumpkins. I was amazed at how real they looked!
I added some floral that I found at Michaels and Hobby Lobby to my dough bowl. I love adding fake floral to all my seasonal decor. I try to use real floral when I can, but the fake is much more practical if you want it to last the entire season.
I kept my mantel pretty simple this year with fresh mums and fake floral. A great style tip is to put your mums in buckets or baskets to give them a more styled look. I found these olive buckets from Decor Steals but you can also find similar ones here.
When my mums could no longer survive the Houston heat, I changed my mantel up yet again using my fake pumpkins and a ton of fake eucalyptus. I purchase all my fake florals from Hobby Lobby (Tip: I always wait until they are 50% off).
I always get questions on my dough bowl – this beauty I found at a local antique show in Texas. But you can also find them here.
Another one of my favorite recent purchases was this vintage laundry basket that I used here to hold all my pumpkins! I use it for practically everything but laundry. It is the perfect storage bin to hold all your throw blankets and pillows too! I found this one at Antique Farmhouse but you can also find it on Amazon here.
Fall Home Tour – Sitting Room
My sitting room is easily my favorite room in my home. I love the DIY shiplap wall that my husband built for us, and this oversized clock from Pier1 is a great statement piece for the wall. Unfortunately, this clock is no longer available. But I want to pass on to you two of my favorite large clocks that can still be purchased – Here and Here.
These gigantic pumpkins are from my favorite craft store, Michaels. I did go a bit overboard on my pumpkin purchase this year but I know I will use them for years to come.
Throughout the season I tend to switch up my decor quite a few times. Some days I am all about the pumpkins, and other days I prefer a clean simple fall look. For this look, I eliminated most of the pumpkins but hung my DIY fall scroll to still give the perfect fall feel. If you missed my DIY scroll tutorial make sure you check it out – here.
One of my favorite purchases for my home is this Everett World Market table. Not only is it fun to decorate, but it also goes well with any style. While decorating this table for fall I incorporated lots of baskets, throws, fall florals, and of course PUMPKINS!
I hope you have a great fall season! Check back soon to see how else I styled my home for the Fall Season – there will be plenty of pumpkins!
